SINGAPORE, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Two airport workers were among the three community cases testing positive for COVID-19 most recently in Singapore, the Health Ministry reported Saturday.
The two infected people are a security officer and a temperature screener and swab assistant at Raffles Medical at Changi Airport Terminal 3, it said in a press release.
Both cases were detected in enhanced community testing to cover all individuals aged 13 and above. They had not interacted with each other, and epidemiological investigations have not established any links between them.
As a precautionary measure, their colleagues at the airport who may have contact with travelers will be tested for COVID-19, said the health ministry.
Besides the three community cases, there are 11 new imported cases, with one case involving a worker residing in the dormitory. The total number of confirmed cases in the state has increased to 57,965.
Twelve more COVID-19 patients were newly discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities, bringing the total number of recoveries to 57,844.
There are currently 53 patients being treated in hospital, who are mostly in stable or improved conditions with none being in the intensive care unit. A total of 40 cases are being isolated and cared for at community facilities, for having mild symptoms or being clinically well but testing positive for COVID-19.
So far, 28 people have died from the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore.
